Multiply three-digit factors in columns. Write a row for the ones, tens and hundreds, then add.

  1. 336 × 422 — 672 + 6,720 + 134,400 = 141,792
  2. 759 × 995 — 3,795 + 68,310 + 683,100 = 755,205
  3. 675 × 169 — 6,075 + 40,500 + 67,500 = 114,075
  4. 948 × 622 — 1,896 + 18,960 + 568,800 = 589,656

From two rows to three

If the hundreds row starts one column too far left or right, have the learner read the multiplier as a sum of place values. In 206, the 2 means 200. Compare 324 × 2 with 324 × 200 before returning to the vertical layout.

Work through 324 × 206

The ones row is 324 × 6 = 1,944. The tens row is 324 × 0 = 0. The hundreds row is 324 × 200 = 64,800. Add 1,944 + 0 + 64,800 to get 66,744.

For an earlier step, try three digits by two digits. Add either original set to a custom packet, reopen a printed W3 code, or report how the worksheet worked.
